Microfiction Monday #2

Welcome to Microfiction Monday,
where a picture paints just 140 characters. Can you do it?

Microfiction Monday badge

Here's this week's picture, and my story to go with it:

YO, MAMA

Mom disowned me because I embarass her.
So now I write gay bondage erotica for a living...
wasn't hard coming up with the perfect pseudonym.

Got one?

About Microfiction Monday

Microfiction means the shortest of short stories. Think Aesop's fables, comic strips, or even jokes: complete stories that can be told in under a minute. For this game, the limit is a tweetable 140 characters or fewer.

Every Sunday evening GMT I'll post my own 'microfiction' inspired by the featured photo or illustration, and invite you to do the same. (If that degree of brevity scares you, feel free to use my own microfiction of the week as your first line instead, and spin something longer. )

You can leave your story in the comments here, or better yet, post on your own blog and leave your link in Mr. Linky under today's picture.

Hate counting letters and spaces? Try Design 215's character counter, which will count for you as you type. Microsoft Word will count for you too, of course, as part of its word count feature under the 'Review' tab.

Photos will be from my own archives; illustrations are by Dover Publications.

And finally, why 140? A whole new fiction market has arisen via mobile phone texting and Twitter, who limits 'tweets' to 140 characters including spaces and punctuation. It's fast, it's fiction, it's fun. Want more?

I love what you did with this. You make me laugh out loud. Touche is a title that comes to mind.

OMG. This is just too damn funny. Nothing like getting even with Mama ROFLMAO Excellent. :)

But Kay, even if you don't write them, reading them finds some treasure; I've been moved to tears and giggles both by some of the tiny stories in the magazines listed at the end.

Thanks Sandy! I must admit I think the poster art deserves something classier LOL, and I can't wait to see what people come up with.

Mahalo Thom! I'm off now to see yours---

Sticking mine in a comment because I won't have time for a post today.
(Still trying to figure out the perfect pseudonym though.)

"Thank you, thank you!" She grits her teeth, waves her flowers, smiles through the pain, and curses everyone who told her to 'Break a leg!'

Catherine, that's perfect for the toothy grin! I love it! The perfect pseudonym I had in mind was the mother's name. If Mum was embarassed *before*... heh heh

I am SUPPOSE to be working, here. :) So I don't have time to link today, but here you go...again, oddly 139!

It's NOT an authentic smile, she spat through gritted teeth.

But you don't have a tree branch stuck up your skirt, holding you in place.

Thanks Dan! I'll be by in a bit!

Thanks Akelamalu! Her grin intrigued me I admit; there's just something a bit wickedly gleeful that I wanted to catch.

Thanks Nessa!

Hmmm ~ Who's Your Daddy? Laugh at Hope.

Sorry I haven't been by for a bit. Busy on the Early Start at 0600 then busy when getting home.

Back on nights now ~ So will be around more.

0600, Bill, wow. I'd wondered if you'd gone away somewhere for the weekend, or what had happened, and was about to e-mail you--I'm glad you're back!

Okay, I am way, way late, but i posted my microfiction. You're post was so good, it inspired me. Now I am off to see what the others have done.

Ack! Don't read my last comment. It was written by some English illiterate twit using my ID! Honest.

;)

Thanks CC!!

Quilly, thanks for playing, I appreciate that! So much so that I swear I'm seeing "your" in that previous comment! (I do that all the time -- why are comments so susceptible to typos??)
